The César Manrique Foundation is located in the spectacular home designed by César Manrique himself upon his return from New York. Inhabited by the artist for 20 years, from 1968 to 1988, it is the house in which he lived the longest. It was located in the middle of a lava flow that originated the great eruptions that occurred on the island between 1730 and 1736. In this construction, which occupies 3,000 square metres on a 30,000-square-metre estate, the dialogue between the building and nature stands out. The upper floor is inspired by the traditional architecture of Lanzarote to which it incorporates functional elements of modern conception. The lower level takes advantage of five natural volcanic bubbles connected by tunnels excavated in the lava. The gardens surrounding the house combine the fascinating contrasts of vegetation, works of art and volcanic ash with fruit trees and other plants.

The Hause Museum in Haría, in the north of Lanzarote, was designed by the artist to work and enjoy the final years of his life and here you can discover the most intimate and personal side of the artist. A place of unique beauty, in the middle of an extraordinary palm grove, located in the beautiful village of Haría. At the beginning of 1986, Manrique started the construction of his last house by reusing and adapting a farmhouse, in ruins, located on a farm he had acquired in the seventies. He lived here until 1992, the year of his death. The visitor will be able to enjoy a unique experience in a peaceful natural environment. A truly unique world that allows you to get closer to the more human side of the great artist born in Lanzarote. The unique conditions of the building make it partially accessible for people with reduced mobility.
