Our journey continues towards the centre of the island to visit Monumento al Campesino, created by César Manrique as a tribute to Lanzarote’s rural traditions and farming communities.

Here we will also see the famous Monumento a la Fecundidad, one of the most recognisable works created by Manrique.

César Manrique Foundation: the artist’s home

In Tahíche, we will visit the César Manrique Foundation, located in the artist’s former home.

Built over an ancient lava flow, the house incorporates natural volcanic bubbles to create unique living spaces. The integration of architecture and nature found here perfectly reflects Manrique’s philosophy.

Cactus Garden: nature transformed into art

We continue to Guatiza, home to the Cactus Garden, one of César Manrique’s final major projects on the island.

A former quarry was transformed into a spectacular amphitheatre-like garden, where cactus species from around the world coexist with architecture perfectly integrated into the surrounding landscape.

Mirador del Río: Lanzarote from above

In the north of the island, we reach Mirador del Río, perched high on the Risco de Famara cliffs.

From this extraordinary viewpoint, designed by César Manrique and seamlessly integrated into the rock, you can enjoy spectacular views of La Graciosa and the Chinijo Archipelago.

Here, one of Manrique’s fundamental ideas becomes especially clear: creating within the landscape without competing with it.

We finish our journey at Jameos del Agua, one of Lanzarote’s most remarkable places and one of César Manrique’s most iconic creations.
