Lanzarote Grand Tour | Discover the Island in One Day

9.4(41 reviews)Approx. 8 hoursUp to 14 peopleEnglish

Discover the best of Lanzarote in one day on our Lanzarote Grand Tour, a comprehensive full-day excursion of approximately 9 hours taking you from the volcanic landscapes of Timanfaya to the spectacular north of the island.

If it is your first time in Lanzarote, you have limited time on the island, or simply want to discover its most iconic places without worrying about driving, this is the perfect way to experience Lanzarote's highlights in a single day.

Our journey begins at Timanfaya National Park, home to the spectacular Fire Mountains. At the Islote de Hilario, fascinating geothermal demonstrations reveal that the heat beneath the Earth's surface is still very much alive.

We then follow the famous Route of the Volcanoes, travelling through an extraordinary landscape of volcanic craters, lava fields and mountains shaped by Lanzarote's eruptions.

From the volcanoes, we continue towards the coast,  stopping at El Golfo, home to the famous Green Lagoon, or Charco de los Clicos. The intense green of the lagoon creates a striking contrast with the black volcanic landscape and deep blue Atlantic Ocean.

Our journey continues through La Geria, Lanzarote's unique wine-growing region. Here you will discover how local farmers learned to cultivate vines in volcanic ash, creating one of the island's most distinctive landscapes.

Heading north, we will pass the Monumento al Campesino, one of César Manrique's works celebrating the traditions and agricultural heritage of Lanzarote.

Next comes Jameos del Agua, one of the island's most extraordinary attractions. Inside a natural volcanic tunnel, César Manrique created a unique space where architecture, art and nature come together.

We finish our Lanzarote Grand Tour at the Cactus Garden in Guatiza, another of Manrique's remarkable creations. Designed as a spectacular amphitheatre, the garden is home to more than 1,000 cactus specimens from around the world.

Lanzarote in one day

The Lanzarote Grand Tour is ideal if you want to experience the island's main highlights in a single excursion: volcanoes, Atlantic landscapes, vineyards, art and nature.

It is a great choice for first-time visitors and for anyone who wants to make the most of their time while discovering the essence of Lanzarote.

  • Bus was easy to locate, comfortable bus, great tour guide, learned loads was very informative. Tour spots were busy and it did feel like you were on a conveyor belt but you were able to see what you came to see and there was time to stop for gifts along the way. Would recommend as cars were queuing for an hour to see the Timanfaya place but the bus was…

  • Picked up on time and transferred to another bus with Eric. Eric was fantastic, very knowledgeable and looked after everyone. Lots of stops and chances for toilets and refreshments. Highlights of the day were Timanfaya National Park and Jameos del Agua both had the WOW factor. I would definitely book with Lanzarote Experience again. Thank You.

  • Very good overview of the island. Informative and amusing guide. Saw most of the "must do" sights on the island including Timanfaya and Jameos del agua. The only thing not worth doing was the wine tasting part. If possible, would like to have included Tahiche to see the Cesar Manrique Foundation. Very good value tour.

Recommendations

  • IMPORTANT INFORMATION.Until the end of 2025 the access to Las Salinas and Los Hervideros will be closed to traffic.
  • Comfortable shoes
  • Do not forget to bring your camera
  • Lanzarote is a windy island and it can be chilly, so a jacket is recommended even in summer. Occasionally we join the clients of the south and grand tours in the same bus. In this case, clients who book the Grand Tour will have two more stops on their itinerary: photo stop at Los Hervideros cliffs and stop at the Camel Park in case there is someone interested in doing the Camel Ride. It is important to know that occasionally we can reach up to 20 people and go in two languages.
